    The G54 Adjustable Rear Control Arms are designed for first and second generation MINI platforms where rear geometry adjustment is required. Lowering a MINI or changing its ride height can increase negative camber beyond the ideal road or tyre wear setting. An adjustable arm allows the installer to correct the geometry or deliberately set the car for a chosen fast road or track configuration.

    Each arm is precision machined from 6082 grade aluminium billet, with substantial end sections and a rigid central body designed to maintain accurate wheel location. The adjustment system allows the effective arm length to be changed in a controlled manner, while locking features secure the selected setting once alignment is complete. CNC machining provides accurate threads, mounting faces and consistent component geometry, helping the arm adjust smoothly and sit correctly within the rear suspension.

    The arms add both function and visual quality beneath the car. An anodised finish protects the aluminium and allows customers to coordinate the rear suspension with other G54 components. For best results, the arms should be installed in pairs by an experienced technician and set on professional four wheel alignment equipment. Adjustment should never be used to compensate for collision damage, worn subframe bushes or distorted suspension components.

    Care Instructions

    Application: MINI R50, R52, R53, R55, R56, R57, R58 and R59 rear control arm position

    Recommended equipment: Vehicle lift, transmission or hub support, suitable sockets and spanners, torque wrench, approved spring or suspension support equipment where required, marking pen, alignment equipment and new single use fasteners where specified by the vehicle manufacturer. Accurate callipers or a rule for baseline length, plus professional four wheel alignment equipment.

    Safety first: Work only on a cool, stable vehicle supported by approved lifting equipment. These instructions are an overview; the current OEM workshop procedure and torque data take priority.

    Procedure

    1. Confirm the exact MINI chassis and arm position. Measure the centre to centre length of the original arm or record the current alignment before removal.

    2. Set both G54 arms to equal length and, as a starting point, match the original arm dimension. Ensure adequate thread engagement remains on both adjusters and that the locking features can be secured.

    3. Raise and support the vehicle safely, remove the rear wheels and support each wheel carrier so the suspension cannot drop or twist unexpectedly.

    4. Mark the orientation of the original arms and any eccentric washers. Remove the mounting bolts in accordance with the MINI workshop procedure and replace single use hardware where specified.

    5. Inspect the subframe, wheel carrier, brackets and adjacent bushes. Repair corrosion, damaged threads or distorted mountings before installing the adjustable arms.

    6. Install each G54 arm in the correct orientation with the adjuster accessible for alignment. Fit the mounting bolts finger tight and confirm that neither arm contacts the body, spring, damper, brake hose or driveshaft.

    7. Raise the suspension to normal ride height and tighten the mounting fasteners to the current MINI torque specification. Do not fully tighten rubber isolated mounting bolts with the suspension hanging.

    8. Place the vehicle on four wheel alignment equipment. Adjust both arms in small, equal increments to achieve the required rear camber and toe relationship, maintaining safe thread engagement.

    9. Tighten the adjuster lock nuts or clamps to the G54 specification while holding the adjuster so the setting does not change. Recheck the alignment readings after locking.

    10. Road test the vehicle, then recheck all mounting and locking points. Inspect again after the first period of use and after any track session or significant ride height change.
