The G54 Supercharger Idler Pulley is designed for the belt drive system used on supercharged MINI R52 and R53 Cooper S and JCW models. The idler pulley guides the auxiliary belt through the correct path and helps maintain stable contact with the driven components. Wear, bearing noise or surface damage in the original pulley can lead to poor belt tracking, vibration and premature belt deterioration, making this a small component with an important role.
G54 machines the pulley body from 6082 grade aluminium billet to provide accurate concentricity, a consistent belt running surface and a controlled fit around the bearing arrangement. The CNC machined form gives the pulley a substantial, high quality appearance while avoiding unnecessary mass. Careful edge treatment and groove geometry help the belt enter and leave the pulley smoothly when installed with the correct alignment.
The anodised finish improves corrosion resistance and allows the pulley to match other G54 engine bay components. It is suited to standard and sensibly upgraded vehicles, including cars using a reduced supercharger pulley, provided the full belt system is inspected and the correct belt length and routing are used.

Care Instructions
Application: MINI R52 and R53 supercharger accessory drive
Recommended equipment: Vehicle lift or safe front access, belt routing reference, suitable sockets, torque wrench, belt tensioner tool, pulley holding or extraction tools as required, and eye protection.
Safety first: Work only on a cool, stable vehicle supported by approved lifting equipment. These instructions are an overview; the current OEM workshop procedure and torque data take priority.
Procedure
1. Allow the engine to cool, remove the wheel and wheel arch to all access to the area as specified by the MINI workshop manual.
2. Photograph or note the auxiliary belt routing. Relieve the tensioner using the correct tool and remove the belt
3. Check the complete idler pulley assembly for play, misalignment, damaged spacers, worn pivot points or a weak tensioner mechanism. Replace defective associated parts before fitting the G54 pulley.
4. Remove the original idler pulley while retaining the correct order and orientation of washers, spacers and dust shields.
5. Compare the new and original components, including diameter, offset, belt running surface and bearing position. Do not proceed if any dimension or hardware arrangement is inconsistent.
6. Install the G54 pulley with the specified spacers and fastener. Tighten to the current MINI torque specification and confirm that the pulley rotates freely without excessive lateral movement.
7. Inspect the belt and replace it if cracked, glazed, contaminated or incorrectly sized. Route the belt correctly and ensure every rib is fully seated before releasing the tensioner.
8. Rotate the drive by hand where permitted, then start the engine and observe belt tracking from a safe distance. Stop immediately if noise, wobble or belt walk is present.
9. Refit all access components and complete a final inspection after a short road test and heat cycle.
