Developed for drivers demanding motorsport level braking performance, this Big Brake Kit combines proven AP Racing calipers, lightweight two piece discs and carefully specified supporting components. The result is a complete braking package engineered to deliver exceptional stopping power, heat management, pedal consistency and durability under demanding road and track use.

At the heart of the system is a pair of AP Racing 4 piston brake calipers. Their rigid construction and multi piston design provide powerful, controlled clamping force across the brake pad, delivering the stopping performance and modulation required when braking repeatedly from high speed.

Lightweight Two Piece Disc Assembly

Rather than using a conventional one piece brake disc, the kit features a two piece disc and bell assembly designed to reduce unnecessary rotating and unsprung mass.

The bells are precision manufactured from 7075 aluminium, selected for its exceptional strength to weight ratio. This allows the assembly to retain the strength required in a high performance braking application while keeping weight extremely low.

Each aluminium bell is paired with a grooved and internally vented cast iron friction disc. Internal ventilation helps control temperature during repeated heavy braking, while the grooved braking surface helps maintain consistent interaction between the pad and disc.

Brake Pads

To make full use of the AP Racing calipers and two piece discs, the kit is supplied with Mintex F2R race compound brake pads.

F2R is a dedicated performance friction material selected for its strong initial bite, high temperature capability and consistent braking performance under repeated heavy use. This makes it particularly well suited to track driving, where maintaining predictable friction characteristics as brake temperatures rise is essential.

Combined with the rigid AP Racing caliper, the F2R pads provide the braking response, modulation and confidence expected from a serious motorsport braking system.

Performance should not come at the expense of the driving experience, which is why the kit also includes anti rattle plates for the brake pads.

Race brake pads and performance calipers can naturally allow some pad movement, particularly at lower speeds and over uneven road surfaces. The anti rattle plates help control this movement, reducing the unwanted knocks, rattles and bangs that can otherwise accompany a motorsport style braking setup.

It is a relatively small detail that makes a significant difference. Less unwanted brake noise means the driver can concentrate on the car and enjoy the drive rather than wondering whether every knock or rattle is something that needs attention.

Caliper Mounting Brackets

The caliper mounting brackets are manufactured from steel and zinc passivated for corrosion protection.

Steel has been deliberately selected for this critical component because of its excellent strength and fatigue characteristics. With the bracket repeatedly subjected to substantial braking loads and thermal cycles, material selection is more important than simply pursuing the lowest possible weight.

The result is a robust mounting solution engineered to maintain accurate caliper location and withstand the repeated loads generated during hard braking.

Brake Lines

A high performance braking system is only as good as the driver's connection to it.

The kit therefore includes Goodridge braided brake hoses, helping to reduce hose expansion under pressure compared with conventional rubber brake lines. This contributes towards a firmer, more consistent pedal and improved feedback when braking hard.

Brake Fluid

High temperature DOT 5.1 brake fluid is also supplied to complete the package.

Its high temperature capability provides additional resistance to fluid boiling during demanding use while retaining a sensible service interval for a performance vehicle. This makes it an excellent choice for a braking system intended to deliver serious performance without introducing unnecessarily short fluid maintenance intervals.
